We recommend two motherboards for overclockers: ASRock P45XE and Jetway BI-500. The BI-500 provides a bit higher stable CPU clock however P45XE allows to use much higher bus clock. Since an average overclocker with scarce budget is limited to selecting a CPU with small multiplier the P45XE motherboard will be more suitable. Get Core 2 (LGA775) drivers software here.
And finally there is a category of gamers that may benefit from use of two inexpensive Radeon HD 4830 graphics cards in CrossFire mode. Of the motherboards presented in this review, two models have the best overclocking capabilities and utilize P45 chipsets with CrossFire support although only one does support the CrossFire technology: ASRock P45XE ensures automatic switching between one graphics card in PCIe 2.0 x16 mode and two graphics cards in x8 mode while Jetway BI-500 is forced to limit the second graphics card with previous generation PCIe standard and x4 lines.
